Terms of Use

These Terms govern your use of Babel ("the app"), a mobile application by kodmap. By using Babel you agree to them. If you download Babel from the App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies; where the two differ, these Terms add to it.

1. The app

Babel is an AI assistant: chat, translation, camera and photo text recognition, writing tools, templates and voice input. Replies are generated by third-party AI models (OpenAI, Anthropic and Google) through our server, as described in our Privacy Policy. The app is provided as-is, for personal use. We may change, add or remove models, features and the token prices of models, and may suspend or discontinue the service.

2. AI answers can be wrong

AI replies and translations are generated automatically. They can be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date or offensive, and they are not professional advice — medical, legal, financial or otherwise. Check important information, especially for health, legal or money matters, and do not rely on a translation where a mistake could cause harm (for example contracts, medication or official documents). You are responsible for how you use what Babel produces.

3. Your content

You keep the rights you have in what you type, say or share to Babel, and in the replies you get, to the extent the law gives you any. You give us and our AI providers the permission needed to process it to produce your replies. Do not send content you have no right to share, and do not send passwords, card numbers, health details or other secrets.

4. Tokens, Babel Plus and payments

  • Tokens. Each message uses tokens; the cost depends on the model you choose and the length of the message and reply, and is shown in the app. You receive free tokens (a welcome bonus and a daily amount) as described in the app. Tokens have no cash value, cannot be transferred or exchanged, and are not refunded on their own. Daily tokens do not accumulate, and subscription tokens are valid for the subscription period they come with, as shown in the app. If a request fails before a reply is delivered, its tokens are returned.
  • Babel Plus is an optional auto-renewing subscription that adds tokens for each period. Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. It renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the period. Manage or cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings — deleting the app or your Babel account does not cancel it.
  • Token packs, where offered, are one-time purchases of tokens that do not expire.
  • Prices are shown in the app, in your local currency, before you buy. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
  • We may change the free amounts, subscription benefits and prices for the future; changes do not affect a period you have already paid for.

5. Acceptable use

Use Babel lawfully and in line with the usage policies of our AI providers. Do not use it to create content that is illegal, harmful, harassing, sexually exploits minors, or infringes the rights of others; to attempt to obtain the system instructions or to bypass safety measures or limits; to reverse-engineer, overload, scrape or misuse the app or our servers; or to get free tokens through multiple accounts, device resets or automation. We may limit, suspend or close access, and remove tokens obtained through misuse.

6. Your account

Babel uses an anonymous account tied to your install; optionally you can link it with Sign in with Apple. If you lose the device or reset it without a linked account, your balance may not be recoverable. You can delete your account at any time — see Data Deletion.

7. Disclaimer and liability

Babel is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, including availability of any particular model. To the extent permitted by law, kodmap is not liable for decisions made on the basis of AI replies or translations, for content generated by AI models, for loss of chats stored on your device, or for indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will change the date above, and continued use after an update means you accept the revised version.

9. Law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and without depriving you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence. Questions: kodmapdev@gmail.com — see also Contact and Privacy Policy.
